Getting Healthy and Staying Healthy

 

Being healthy is more than just eating right and exercising. It's a way of life. And once you choose to live a healthy life lots of good things will follow. Being healthy and fit are both keys to feeling well and confident. Also makes life easier. Think about it.... When you are healthy and fit aren't everyday activities easier? It's easier to keep up with your children, pick things up, clean the house, walk the dog, not to mention staying alert, focusing better, sleeping better, less aches and pains. Life is just easier and you just feel GOOD!

Eating Right

 

The Healthy Guidlines for Americans suggests we eat a well balanced diet. What does this mean? Check out their website for information HERE

 

Cooking for yourself and watching portions is also KEY to eating right. By cooking for yourself you will know EXACTLY what's in your food and how many calories you are consuming. You also will have control over your portions. As Americans we have become accostomed to HUGE portion sizes. I strongly suggest looking into what correct portion sizes are.

 

Exercising

 

We all know how important it is to exercise to keep fit and healthy. It is reccomended that we get at least 3 hours of moderate aerobic acitivity per week to maintain weight. However, if you are trying to lose  weight or tone muscles that will all need to be adjusted and modified. For more information go HERE

Living a Healthier Life

 

Living a healthy lifestyle consists of MANY things. Chosing not to smoke, limiting alcohol intake, being active, making better food choices. It all effects how we feel and how we live and what examples we set for others around us. What image do you want to portray to your children? I'd hope you'd say a healthy active lifestyle. The obesisty rate in America is at it's highest ever and still rising. It is our job to set the right examples.
